Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" location. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. Many people believe that it's an island located to the west of Montreal However, it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities of Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently mentioned, but her brief visit to the West Island wasn't. Brugel was an aspiring young lady within Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. Her first ambition was to be a dancer. But, a growing rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she had. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with the Bachelors in Fine Arts in 2000. Over the last 20 years, Brugel's work has been featured on both the large and small screen. Her work gained most fame when she was offered the part as Rita on the award-winning TV show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of moments in the very first season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. She was the only Canadian actor.
